On the 26 th of March 2016, AFNO collaborated with Wembley Fire Station to organise a Brent Safety Event for the Nepalese community. It was kindly hosted by Andrew Cuthbert from Wembley Fire Station in partnership with the London Metropolitan Police and London Fire Services. Borough commander Simon Tuhill was also present.
The event involved interesting talks from firemen and the Met Police about safety and security. Attendees watched an informative video about fire safety. It was an interactive day with attendees participating in activities and partaking in Q&A session. The day took an exciting turn when firemen practiced a drill and everyone watched as they used a chainsaw to cut through a car skillfully, demonstrating what they would do in case of a car accident. The event was a great success. With the help of AFNO volunteers who translated all the information in Nepalese, the attendees gained valuable knowledge on the role of the Firemen and what to do in case of a fire emergency.
