Hounslow CCG’s Nepalese Patient Reference Group* met for the second time on 21 July 2016. They discussed further about the health needs of the Nepalese community living in Hounslow. In the first session it was revealed that people would like more written material about health and services in Nepali. Taking this feedback into consideration, members of AFNO worked hard to translate some material.
This was given to participants at the session, who reviewed the written translated materials for Healthwatch and CCG Hounslow Health Services. They were happy with the information and approved by the group, copies of health services in Hounslow printed in Nepali will be published soon. In addition to this the group along with AFNO members present started planning for a Hounslow Health Event that will take place in November.
* Participants recruited from the Hounslow borough who have long-term ailments and/or who have family member(s) with health problems. They will take part in four focus group discussions about the health needs of the Nepalese community living in the borough, over the period of one year.
